Courses

The American Heart Association offers both Instructor-Led classroom and eLearning “Blended Learning” courses to provide complete, flexible training solutions.

Onsite (Classroom):

In this Instructor-led course format, students are with an AHA instructor for their entire learning experience. These 100% classroom courses are a good option for students who learn most effectively in a classroom environment with other students. These courses are taught by American Heart Association Instructors, who administer both the cognitive portion of the course and hands on skills practice and testing. In certain courses, students may also complete a written exam. Certification Cards are given out at the end of class.

Online (Blended Learning):

The American Heart Association offers Blended Learning courses to provide complete, flexible training solutions. Online & Blended Courses function as a two-part process. To receive your course completion card, you must successfully complete:

Part 1: Successful completion of ONLINE Course (90 – 120 minutes, online portion and exam). Course fee for Part 1 is paid directly to American Heart Association.

Part 2: Skills Session (30 – 60 minutes): Successful completion of an in person, hands on skill session with one of our American Heart Association Certified Instructors. A certificate of completion for the ONLINE PART 1 must be presented at the time of your skill session to receive your completion card. Course Fee for Part 2 is paid to CPR Essentials.

Certification Cards are given out at the end of the skill session.
