ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support also known as ACLS. ACLS courses highlight the importance of team dynamics, communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac arrest care. They also cover airway management and related pharmacology.

Available Learning Formats

This course is offered in the following formats:

Onsite: In a classroom at one of our locations.

Online: This is a two-part process, first you complete the online course material at your own convenience and pace. Then you complete the hands-on skills portion of the course at one of our classroom locations. This is the most flexible option for individuals with busy or non-conventional schedules.

Offsite: In a classroom at your location. This is typically good for Organizations who would like to certify or recertify multiple members at one time, while minimizing the time away from the Organization’s location. A minimum of 6 students is required for this format. 

The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Class covers:

  • Advanced cardiovascular life support certification course will train you to apply the BLS, Primary, and Secondary Assessments sequence for a systematic evaluation of adult patients
  • Perform prompt, high-quality BLS, including prioritizing early chest compressions and integrating early automated external defibrillator (AED) use
  • Recognize and perform early management of respiratory arrest
  • Discuss early recognition and management of ACS and stroke, including appropriate disposition
  • Recognize and perform early management of bradyarrhythmias and tachyarrhythmias that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome
  • Recognize and perform early management of cardiac arrest until termination of resuscitation or transfer of care, including immediate post–cardiac arrest care
  • Model effective communication as a member or leader of a high-performance team
  • Evaluate resuscitative efforts during cardiac arrest through continuous assessment of CPR quality, monitoring the patient’s physiologic response, and delivering real-time feedback to the team
  • Recognize the impact of team dynamics on overall team performance
  • Discuss how the use of a rapid response team or medical emergency team may improve patient outcomes
  • Define systems of care
